About the Course

This PUWER Training course will take you through what you need to know when it comes to staying safe with the use of work equipment. The course will provide strong guidance towards compliance with current legislation. The course is IOSH Approved & CPD Accredited, to assure you of its quality and is suitable for anybody who works in manufacturing or construction.

Importance of training:

It’s important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, You must ensure that the work equipment you provide meets the requirements of PUWER. You should ensure that it is:

  • suitable for use, and for the purpose and conditions in which it is to be used;
  • maintained in a safe condition for use so that people’s health and safety is not at risk; and
  • inspected, in certain circumstances, to ensure that it is and continues to be safe for use. Any inspection should be carried out by a competent person (this could be an employee if they have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to perform the task) and a record kept until the next inspection.

Certificate (download and print):

Each of our courses ends with a multiple choice test to measure your knowledge of the material. This PUWER Training course concludes with a 20 question multiple choice test with a printable certificate. In addition, brief in-course questionnaires guide the user through the sections of the training and are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum user engagement throughout.

As well as printable user certificates, training progress and results are all stored centrally in your LMS (Learning Management System) and can be accessed any time to reprint certificates, check and set pass marks and act as proof of a commitment to ongoing legal compliance.
